Saundra Barnett

Saundra Chandler Barnett was born October 3, 1939, in Windom, TX, to Hulen R. and Ann Gibbs Chandler. She married the love of her life, Monty Allen Barnett, on April 1, 1960. Saundra absolutely cherished being the loving mother to their three boys and the grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren.

Mrs. Barnett worked for the Times Record News as a receptionist and switchboard operator. She also worked in a similar capacity for United Electric.

Saundra Barnett was a devoted longtime member of Fairway Baptist Church. In addition teaching Sunday School and Awanas, Saundra ministered to others in countless ways. She possessed a deeply caring heart, a listening ear, and an astonishing memory for details. She shared herself, her kindness, and her wisdom generously with others in a beautiful reflection of her love for the Lord.

Survivors include her husband, Monty Allen Barnett, Sr.; sons, Monty Allen Barnett, Jr. and wife Laura Ann, sons Jeffrey Todd Barnett and Larry Christopher Barnett; sisters Mary Ann Hacker, Jackie Moorehead, Andrea Williams, and Bobbie Haggard –King; brother Larry Chandler; sister-in-law Loretta Chandler; brother-in-law Don Manhart; grandchildren Megan Barnett, Sean Barnett, Lauren Barnett-Rooney and husband Michael, Sarah Barnett and fiancé Jack Barrick, Alexandra Barnett, and Alyssa Barnett.

Saundra was preceded in death by her parents; sister and her husband Joy and Jack Hathaway; brother-in-law Royce Moorehead; sister Shirley Manhart; brother Gary Chandler; sister-in-law Norma Chandler; brother Harlin Chandler; brother-in-law Don Williams; and brother-in-law Jack Haggard.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fairway Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas in honor of Saundra Barnett.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 5-7 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 6, 2022, at 11 AM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
