Robbin Freddie Robinson, the beloved son of Freddie A. Robinson and Oleta L. Robinson, passed from this Earth to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father on December 10, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Shawn Bitner, Pastor, First Baptist Church of Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Veterans Garden of Crestview Memorial Park with military honors rendered by the U. S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.
‘Rob’ was born December 16, 1943 in Wichita Falls, TX. When he was one year old, the family moved to Los Angeles, CA. At the age of six, he enrolled in Ramsey Military School and was one of only four who graduated with the Honor Guard. Rob attended University High School in Los Angeles and after graduating became a personal security agent for the Hearst family where he was assigned to Patricia Hearst. Not long after, he was drafted into the United States Army. He was trained as a medic and deployed to Vietnam where he spent one year in combat tending to the injured and wounded. Once back in the States, Mr. Robinson missed life in the Army and reenlisted. He spent 20 years in the Army and was stationed in several European countries. He spent his spare time traveling the world. After retiring from the armed services, Rob worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 10 years at the James V. Allred Unit. He was a member of the NRA, an avid collector of firearms and enjoyed researching and collecting rare currencies/coins.
Fred Robinson, his father, preceded him in death. Rob is survived by his mother, Oleta Robinson; uncle, Virgil Robinson, both of Wichita Falls; aunt, Lori Wade of California; many cousins, nieces and nephews and, of course his beloved dog, Lady. Rob had a strong penchant for giving to the less fortunate and one of his favorite charities was the Humane Society.
Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Wichita County, 4360 Old Iowa Park Rd., Wichita Falls, 76305.
