Rita G. De La Cruz

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mrs. De La Cruz was born May 22, 1940 in Kerrville, TX to the late Thomas Ayala Garza and Lenore Marines Garza. She is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Guiterrez and her brother, Edwardo Garza.

Rita married Joe De La Cruz on November 3, 1956 in their hometown of Kerrville, TX. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic and a Guadalupana. Rita was employed with Levi Strauss & Co. for 36 years, served as Vice President for the union and retired 1n 1998. She was a loving wife and mother and dedicated to her family; a true friend and inspiration to all. Her beautiful smile and sense of humor will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Joe De La Cruz; daughters, Elisa Burks and husband, Jay of Brownwood, TX, Diana King and husband Robbie, Joanna D. Hernandez and husband, Anthony and by her son, Mario De La Cruz and wife, Anna, all of Wichita Falls; her sisters, Josepha Martinez of Houston, TX, Paula Meza, and Amellia (Emma) De Los Santos and husband, Modesto of Kerrville, TX; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
