There are just too many memories to pick one. Either he was helping fix something at our house or Motorcycle Rides. I think the one that really stands out is going to with him and the Griffins and then to Canada. Made some great new good friends, experienced new sites and had a blast. Will miss him.

Let’s face it, my little house is more of a fixer-up special rather than one’s dream home! Of course, I didn’t pay the price for a dream home so that kind of evens out the situation! For an entire month my toilet wouldn’t stop running and I noticed my water bill went from $68 to a whopping $140. I really didn’t have the funds and option to hire a plumber, so I called my pre-teen grandson (Andrew) to help me. The two of us quickly discovered we needed to ask a salesperson at Lowe’s for the correct tool.

We were quickly shown the “right” tool and away we went with the tool in hand. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to do the job. We didn't have the strength to make it work.  I was confused: What would work? Andrew and I went back to Lowe’s with the tool and its receipt. We explained to Lowe’s that it didn’t work. They gave me my money back and we went over to the tool area to find a better tool. Guess who was literally sitting around talking to the salespeople. Yep! Rick! 

Of course, Rick was interested in what brought Andrew and me to Lowe’s and wanted a thorough description of the problem. We told him that we just brought a tool back to get a refund. Rick seemed happy with that information as he asked if he could come over immediately and check it out. OF COURSE!  

Minutes later Andrew and I met Rick at my house and Rick pulled out the EXACT same tool, only it had rubberized teeth. Within minutes after our arrival at my house, along with one swift, strong tug by Rick, my toilet finally stopped running!

I decided to wait until my grandson got a little older before expecting him to be stronger for such work. However, I am eternally grateful to Rick who cared enough to take the time to help me in my moment of need. You see, Rick put my water bill back to $68 a month! Thanks Rick! May you Rest in Peace!
