Radell Watkins Martin, 69, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on the evening of Sunday, October 30, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Radell was born in Dallas, Texas on September 17, 1953, but spent most of her childhood in Burkburnett, Texas. She graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1972, moved to Wichita Falls and attended Midwestern State University for a short time. Radell was a dedicated and conscientious worker all through her life and held numerous positions with companies throughout Wichita Falls. Since January of 2017, Radell worked as the Receptionist for Landmark Title Company.
Always an independent, resourceful, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend, Radell’s beautiful smile and laughter lit up our souls. Her quick-witted sense of humor was second to none, and she was as loving as she was funny. Radell was renowned for her hilarious sayings and for not holding back her opinion. She took pride in telling it like she saw it even if it wasn’t what you always wanted to hear. Be that as it may, Radell’s candor was rooted in love. A profound love for God, family, friends and country. Radell always had the best intentions and truly made the world a brighter place. Throughout her battle with cancer, she never lost her sense of humor or faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her, and she will be forever in our hearts till we meet again.
Radell was preceded in death by her father B.K. Watkins and her mother Virginia M. Watkins. She is survived by her husband James “Jimmie” Martin Jr., her son Darren Hancock and his wife AnnaLiese, and her two beloved grandchildren Reid and Adalyn. Her extended family includes her only sister Vickie Young, her nephew Aaron Young, his wife Jamie and their daughter Baylee, as well as several other family members and close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Radell to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
