Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February, 6, 2013 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Svajda officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in the Garden of Peace.
Mr. Kilpatrick was born on October 18, 1928 in Abilene, Texas to Fred and Luella (Williams) Kilpatrick.
He met and married Glenda Madge Smith on October 17, 1947. To those who loved him most, Lester Kilpatrick was known as Dad, Grandad Plain, and Great Papa. Lester was a very strong and hard-working man. He was a skilled gardener and loved spending time in his garden. He was a collector of many things including books, and musical instruments. He was especially fond of old gospel music. He enjoyed building things, and fixing whatever needed fixing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of the ones he loved. Lester is deeply loved and will be very much missed.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenda; brothers, Roy Franklin, Fred Donald and William “Bill” Kilpatrick; one sister, Mary Ellen Kilpatrick Schmidt.
He is survived by his children, Sandra Ann McCurdy and husband Marles of FT. Worth, Tx. Lester Allen Kilpatrick Jr. of Wichita Falls, Tx. and Donald Glenn Kilpatrick of Arlington, Tx. 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many very good friends.
