Kenneth Ray Smith passed away on March 4, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 21, 1945 to Jack and Loma Smith of Paris, Texas, Kenneth was a cherished member of the Wichita Falls community.
He was a proud graduate of Wichita Falls High School. His career was marked by dedication and excellence; he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Sheppard Air Force, where he was also their union steward.
In 1983, Kenneth met the love of his life, Robin Robinson, and together, they built a family and a life filled with love and laughter. Kenneth was a devoted adopted father to Mackenzie and Parker, and a doting grandfather Reese.
Kenneth’s life was one of active engagement with the world around him. He was an avid fisherman, foodie, gardner, gambler, and candy crush master! He owned Phil’s Flower Shop with his cousin Patsy Major for many years. Kenneth’s love of food led him to learning the trade by watching Jacque Pepin and Julia Child. He made the best chicken fried steak, manhattan corn, and fruit salad; with a love of Robin’s homemade chocolate pie for every birthday. He loved animals. Through his love of animals, he learned how to speak German. Kenneth taught his Rottweilers how to respond to him. It was a sight to behold! In his younger years, he ministered to the youth of Wichita Falls. Kenneth was a devout Christian; his commitment to his faith was ever unwavering.
Predeceased by his parents, sister Mildred, and several aunts and uncles. Kenneth’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Robin; his adopted children, Parker and Mackenzie Robinson; his adored grandchild, Reese; his sister-in-law, Gina Boyce; his brother-in-law C.G. Robinson and fiancé Tracy; his nieces Pam Johnson and husband Jon; Tammie Henderson and husband Mark; Kendra Conner husband Brandon; Lindsey Magers partner Jacob Seigler; nephew Mark Johnson. His nieces and nephews will also feel his absence, as well as a wide circle of friends and colleagues.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Kenneth Smith will be remembered as a loving husband, father, pop-pop, brother, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, sarcasm, and the joy he brought to every gathering will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
