Judi was born in Bakersfield, California on January 15, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy (Howe) Gunter and Travis Gunter; her sister, Sandra DeVlaeminck; and her brothers, Johnnie Gunter and Samuel Horsley, who were all waiting in heaven to greet her with open arms.
Judi devoted her life to loving, caring for, and assisting so many others. She is survived, loved, and mourned by her husband, Charles F. Gregory,Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; Sister, Twilla Moschgat of Westland, Michigan; and Joyce Schmidt of Wellington, Utah. She will be deeply missed, but also gratefully and lovingly remembered by her three girls, Sandi Welker and husband John Welker of Holliday, Texas; Sharron Deeb and husband, Bruce Deeb of Burkburnett, Texas; Suzi Arras and husband, Chris Arras of Flower Mound, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Carrie Kueser of Burkburnett, Texas; Blake Deeb and wife, Breanna Deeb of Burkburnett, Texas; Caden Arras of Flower Mound, Texas; Addison Moschgat of Holliday, Texas;Heather Maloy and husband Eric; great granddaughters, Abby Kueser and Scarlett Kueser, both of Burkburnett, Texas; great grandsons, Dylan and Lane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judi grew up in California. She and her husband, Robert E. Moschgat, raised their three girls in multiple states before settling in Burkburnett. For 24 years, Judi created beautiful and loving homes for her family while supporting Bob’s efforts, while serving in the U.S. Air Force, before retiring at Sheppard AFB.
She later married, Charles F. Gregory,Jr. For 38 years, she supported his band directing efforts with many area High School Bands, including, Burkburnett, Jacksboro, Nocona, Graham, and City View. She enjoyed all the music made at concerts and marching competitions. She also enjoyed attending sessions of the Mad Medics, a local upbeat band comprised of local doctors and music enthusiasts. She loved music and could easily get caught up in the joy of an upbeat song.
Many will remember the care and assistance she offered and shared while working at Howell Tax Service and before that, as office manager in area dental offices including Dr. David Smith and Dr. Kenneth Aboussie in Wichita Falls, and Dr’s. Boardman, Morrison, Jackson, and Doerre in Burkburnett. Judi was also a member of the Wichita Falls Area Quilters’ Guild.
Her favorite moments though were spending time with her ever growing family. She absolutely loved loving her family. She attended concerts, games, school events, and celebrations every chance she could, often traveling great distances to get there. She was creative through and through and relished making heirlooms for her children, grandchildren, and closest friends. She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, cross stitching, paper crafting, baking, cooking, and anything that allowed her to use her hands to create and show her love for her family and friends. She was incredible in her creativity, skills, and commitment. Always, choosing the best projects, colors, and patterns for the lucky recipient. No project was too big. She could tackle anything and it would turn out beautifully.
Until we see you again beautiful and loving lady. We will always think of you and the love you poured into each of us always, but especially when we see the color yellow, a beautifully patterned fabric or paper, or a delicious, shared recipe. Rest well and worry free in Heaven.
