James Donald “Don” Pruitt, 74, of Wichita Falls died on his 74th birthday, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at a local hospital. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Edgar “Jim” Bell. Entombment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Don was born November 24, 1936 in Knoxville, TN to Henry and Lucille (Ford) Pruitt. He served our country during the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Air Force. He married Margaret Hobbs September 20, 1956 in Knoxville, TN and together they raised two sons. Don was an electrician and worked for Evans Electric. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN and attended Friberg-Cooper Methodist Church.
Mr. Pruitt is preceded in death by his father, Henry Pruitt; and mother, Lucille Lovelace.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret Pruitt of Wichita Falls; devoted sons and daughters-in-law, James Donald “Donnie” Jr. and Kathy Pruitt, Dwayne Allen and Holly Pruitt all of Mesquite, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Harold David and Dorothy Pruitt; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lynn and Ray Fain all of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Matthew Pruitt, Chelsea Pruitt, Katie Pruitt, Stephanie and Curtis Ammons, Megan and Colby Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Rylie and Karley Ammons.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
