Frederick G. Marsh, 85, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, May 24, 2012 in Wichita Falls. A memorial service has been set for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Dennis Neal of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park.
Fred was born June 12, 1926 in Covington KY to Louis E. and Virginia Hurd Marsh. He served our country in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II on the USS Endymion, ARL-9. He also served in the Army with the 19th Infantry Regiment (Rock of Chickamauga) during the Korean Conflict and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the military after 20 years. He worked for the Post Office for 20 years and for Disney World for 10 years before retiring at age 82.
Mr. Marsh is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Doris; three sisters, Nancy, Bernice, Marjorie; and four brothers, Hobert, Bud, Wesley, and Harlan.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Frederick Jr. and Iris Marsh of Albuquerque, NM, Linda and Steve Cain of Wichita Falls, Harlan and Bernadette Marsh of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, 2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
