

Eloise Victory Southerland, 91, of north Archer County, Texas passed away at her home on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 Saturday before the funeral.
Eloise was born September 11, 1922 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Boss Bryan and Florence (Thomas) Berryman. She came to Archer County as a small baby and was the 4th child with six brothers and four sisters. She attended Archer City School and lived in Archer County until she married Herbert William Victory on December 25, 1941 in Crosbyton, Texas. To this union, they were blessed with seven children; Joel William, Katherine Diane, Malinda Sue, Vicki Janett, Herbert William, Jr., Thomas Joel and Donald Joe.
Eloise was a Cosmetic Consultant for 15 years and then a homemaker and stay at home Mom. During her marriage to Herb, they lived in Indiana and Texas, finally ending up residing in Archer County. Eloise enjoyed crocheting, studying the Bible and being with her family.
On January 31, 2009, Eloise married Harold Southerland of River Oaks, TX where they made their home. They were childhood friends who had not seen each for 70 years.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Herbert on March 10 2007 shortly after their 65th anniversary and an infant daughter, Katherine Diane in 1947; brothers, Albert, Robert, and Pete; sisters, Inez and Irene.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Southerland of River Oaks, TX; sons, Joel and wife, Elizabeth of Cleburne, TX, Herby and wife, Melody, Tommy and wife, Abby and Donny and wife, Melissa all of rural Archer County; her daughters, Malinda Sue of rural Archer County and Vicki and husband, Terry Sydow of Stratton, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry, Claude, and Buddy and sisters, Mae and Myrtle.
