Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Simon Flores officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Danny Stokes, George Stokes, Pete Munoz, David Munoz, Sr., Barry Moreno, and Jesus Moreno.
Eli was born September 18, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Albert and Elizabeth Moreno. He was a member of the First Mexican Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.
Eli married Lilia Monsevais in Wichita Falls. They shared 60 wonderful years together and raised three daughters and one son.
Eli proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed out of San Diego.
Eli worked for the Wichita Falls Sanitation Department for thirty years, retiring in 1991. Pop, as he was known by his children and grandchildren loved life and was fun loving and so sweet with his adored grandsons and great-grandson’s.
Eli was preceded in death by his parents, and his precious daughter, Rosa Linda Munoz in 2010. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Mayo Moreno.
Survivors include his wife, Lilia, two daughters, Bertha, and Mary Ann; one son, Eli Moreno, Jr., and wife Judy; one sister, Velia Fernandez; son-in-law, Pete Munoz, sister-in-law, Amelia Moreno; all of Wichita Falls; one brother-in-law, Authur Monsevais of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two grandsons, David Munoz, and wife, Ashley, and Barry Moreno; one great-grandson, David Munoz, Jr., and many loving nieces and nephews, all of Wichita Falls,
We love you Eli (Pop) and you will be greatly missed by all of us.
