Douglas F. Parker, 89, of Wichita Falls went to the Lord on October 7, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park under the auspices of the U. S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. No visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Parker was born in Hamlin, TX to Frank and Serena (Treadwell) Parker. He is preceded in death by 11 Brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. Douglas is survived by his Loving wife of 69 years, Billie Jean (Stewart) Parker. Together they had three children, David Parker and wife Kathy of Riverton, WY, Marian Williams and husband, Jim of Colorado Springs, CO and Bruce Parker and wife Cindy of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren, Kim Masson and husband Bruno, Shelly Mowry and husband Jim, John Williams and wife Rebecca, Charity Cloud and husband Josh, Joseph Williams, Stephanie Probandt and husband Eric and Taylor Parker. Also 15 great grandchildren.
Douglas enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1943 and was in the Raider Division during World War II. His active duty included the Battle of Iwo Jimo. He was discharged in 1945. He then attended Texas Tech University graduating as an Electrical Engineer. It was there he and Billie Jean, the love of his life met and married. For the next 69 years they lived in Carlsbad, NM, Hobbs, NM, Green River, WY and Wichita Falls, TX where he founded his company, E.M.D. Douglas was a deacon in the Baptist churches of the communities where he lived. He was a devoted husband and loving father.
