Dora Halstead, 79, of Iowa Park began “riding her chariot with Jesus” on August 10, 2010. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2010 at Crestview Memorial Park with her son, Harry A. Halstead, III officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Halstead was born to Toge and Thelma Yates in Oklahoma and had been a resident of Wichita Falls and later Iowa Park since 1966. She was a Baptist by faith and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Halstead was married to Harry A. Halstead, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2009. Survivors are daughter, Lawanda ‘Lou’ Mello of Middleboro, Ma.; sons, Jimmie Halstead of Pasadena, Tx. and Harry A. Halstead, III of Iowa Park; sisters, Geneva Jackson of California and Joyce Coffee of Texas; brothers Kenneth Yates of New Mexico and Eugene ‘Gene’ Yates of Texas; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to a favorite charity in memory of Dora.
