Cliftine Hale Scott

Cliftine Hale Scott, 98, of Wichita Falls passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scott was born in Dublin, TX October 28, 1915 to the late Orlando A. and Rebecca E. (Pittman) Whitfield. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1941, residing here since. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Scott was employed at Nobby Cleaners for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She was always a busy woman, raising her family, working and taking care of many other chores.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her previous husband, Dan Hale; husband, Edgar L. Scott; son, Ken Hale; great grandson, Kyle Young and her six brothers.

Survivors are her children, Helen Yancey and husband Max of Wichita Falls, Donald E. Hale and wife Mary Sue of Iowa Park, TX, Sue Murehead and husband James of Wichita Falls; daughter-in-law, Anita Hale of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren, Dan Yancey and wife Cindy; Weldon Yancey and fiancé Jerrie; Alton Yancey and wife Angela; Tracy Catlin and husband Brent; Renae Young and Brad, Cynthia Bills and Carol Todd and husband Joe; 18 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., 76310 or to the Good Samaritan Fund of Presbyterian Manor, 4600 Taft Blvd., Wichita Falls, TX 76308.
