Charles Garland Rasberry, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Wichita Falls. A Visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm Monday, February 22, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Charlie worked for Boley Featherston Insurance and had been in the insurance business for over 40 years selling commercial insurance. He was passionate and proud of his customer service he provided to his insured. He loved watching his grandson, Steffen, play college football for Hardin Simmons in Abilene, watching his granddaughter, Reese, play soccer, and seeing all the kids and grandkids enjoy swimming and boating at his and Kay’s cabin at Lake Kemp. He loved his two dogs, Sam-E and Highway, and took them on long drives in the off road vehicle at the lake. He never met a stranger, had more friends than he realized, and he loved life.
Charlie is preceded in death by his father, John Glenn Rasberry, of Emory, Texas; and his mother, Ida Rebecca Canine Rasberry, of Lubbock, Texas.
He leaves behind his wife, Kathryn (Kay), whom he was married to for 31 years; son, Garland, of Austin, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Thomas of Wichita Falls; son, Chris Dawson of Wichita Falls; son, Darrin, and wife Mary, of Ankeny, Iowa; and daughter, Ashley of Wichita Falls; brother, John and wife Karen of Lubbock, Texas, and sister, Sherron Small of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Steffen Thomas of Abilene, Texas, Jade Thomas of Wichita Falls, Kodi, Caitlin, Paisley and Ella Dawson all of Wichita Falls, Nylah McKnight of Wichita Falls, and Reese Rasberry of Austin, Texas, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Honorary pallbearers are Luke Grizzaffi, Greg Johnson, Dwight Ross, Bill Lindeman, and Johnny Swanson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSU General Scholarship Fund in Charles’ name. Charles graduated from MSU in 1977.
