Carl Edward Smith

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born to George and Gussie Smith on August 21, 1912 in Eufaula, OK. He has lived in Wichita Falls for 73 years. He married Mary Louise Sessions in her hometown of Altus, OK on June 19, 1937, and they were married for 56 years until her death in 1994. Mr. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church and belonged to the Maskat Temple. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years before his retirement in 1972. He remarried in 1995 to Edith Haughey. They were married for 10 years until her death in 2005.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Louise Smith, brother, Rex Smith, sister, Catherine Layman and son, Dan E. Smith. Survivors include son, Ed Smith and wife Wanda of Grand Prairie, a daughter, Gloria Dicken and husband Larry of Wichita Falls, 4 grandchildren, Pam Tims and husband Stan, Glen Dicken and wife Janna, Greg Smith, Tony Smith and 1 great grandchild, Preston Dicken.
