Betty Jean White, our beloved mother and nanny, was born on January 3, 1936. Betty was adopted a few days later by her angels, Mamie and Henry Wilson who raised her to love and trust Jesus. Betty passed peacefully into Jesus’ arms on March 13, 2025.
Betty grew up in Wichita Falls. At a young age she began singing gospel music at her church, which was her passion for many years. She attended Wichita Falls High school through her sophomore year, then attended Draughons Business college. She began her career for civil service at Sheppard AFB and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world during her career. She ended her 30 plus year career after marrying the love of her life, Lt Col George White.
Betty loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. What brought her the most joy was hosting family gatherings at her home for the holidays and anytime during the year. She and George loved preparing food for their family and sharing with the neighbors.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Henry Wilson, her husband George, a daughter, Carolyn Symes and son in law, Jimmy Dorman.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl Offutt, Cindy Dorman, Connie and Jeff Nolen, and Tom and Debra White; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren whom she loved with her whole heart.
Her family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Prothro Yeager Healthcare of Presbyterian Manor for their loving care over the past three years.
Donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the Presbyterian Manor Angel Fund.
