Betty Jo Alexander

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home, with Larry Shields officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the funeral home.

Betty was born in Baird, Texas on May 15, 1924 to George Bruce and Josephine (Taylor) Jones. She was the sixth of seven children born to the couple. Betty enjoyed singing especially in the church choir, cooking, playing 42, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Following her retirement as a secretary, Betty and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending their summers in Colorado

Betty, known affectionately to her family as both Nanny and Granny, met her Father unexpectedly, yet peacefully, and according to His plan. Her family finds solace in knowing that she is happy to be reunited with her husband after fifteen years apart.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leslie Harold Alexander, granddaughter Leslie Eleanor Alexander, brothers Burl Jones, Robert Jones, Rex Jones, Lloyd Jones, Billie Jones, and sister, Louise Terrell.

Betty is survived by her children, Harold Alexander of Richardson, Tx; Wayne Alexander and wife Susan of Arlington, Tx; Sheryl Alexander of Wichita Falls, Tx; and Linda Gullette and husband Kevin of Wichita Falls, Tx. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Jason Alexander and wife Ashley of Burleson, Tx.; Brian Alexander and wife Connie of Burleson, Tx.; Heather Gullette of Burleson, Tx.; Juliet Alexander and husband Peter Parker, of Frisco, Tx.; Kyle Gullette of Wichita Falls, Tx.; and great-granddaughters Kinlee and Hartlee Alexander of Burleson, Tx.
