Bessie O Honea

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2 PM Wednesday May 17, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to Follow in Crestview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Honea was born July 8, 1937 in Geary, OK to Dorris and Mary Lucille (Chambless) Pointer. She married Andy Lee Honea on November 3, 1962.

When Mrs. Honea’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, she was an exceptional wife and mother, also making time to keep the books for her husbands growing business. When Mrs. Honea’s children were grown, she entered the workforce and developed a passion for fine jewelry. She worked for several fine jewelry establishments where she was often recognized as top sales associate. After 20+ years of a successful and rewarding career, Mrs. Honea retired from the fine jewelry business to care for her husband who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She found caring for him, until his death in 2016, to be her most rewarding job of all.

Survivors include, 2 children, Jamie L. Wade, Cameron Honea and wife Joann; grandchildren, Logan Green, Landon Green, Jenna Gilbert and husband Greg, Cameron Trey Honea, Jamie Lopez and husband Cody, Jodie Robinson and husband Blayne; Great grandchildren, Sullivyn Green, Creed Gilbert, Dax Gilbert, Raylee Huse, Jadyn Lopez, Kensee Lopez, Bella Lopez, Bailee Lopez, Jane Robinson, and Joey Robinson.

Preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Andy Honea; Son, Erdie Robertson; Sister Patsy Jo Patterson and her husband O.N. Patterson, Jr.; and granddaughter, Janie Christine Robertson.

The family would like to express our appreciation to the Nursing Staff of the Evergreen wing at Earle W. Crawford House of Hope, Hospice of Wichita Falls, and to Jodie Robinson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. The love, care and patience you gave to our mother will never be forgotten. God bless you all.
