Bernice Elizabeth Beard, 105, died Saturday in Houston, Texas. Services will be at 2 pm Friday at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with The Reverend Don Pellican of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Beard was born March 10,1917 in Sherman, Texas. She was very active in Wichita Falls, raising two children and helping her husband, Clifford Beard, in building and operating Texas Furniture Company for many years.
A long-time golf enthusiast, Mrs. Beard was a member of the Women’s Golf Association, serving as President for a time. She played golf until she was 80 years old. Some of her charity work includes The Women’s Forum and teaching recipients sewing skills at the Girl’s Club. She was an excellent seamstress.

Son, Ron Beard of Eugene, Oregon
