Bennie was born December 14, 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated from LaGrange High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1972. Bennie served in the US Air Force for 21 years, working as a helicopter crew chief and Huey maintenance instructor and retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1993. Bennie obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s in Educational Psychology during his active duty years. He went on to work as a civilian at Sheppard AFB as an aircraft fundamentals instructor and later as a medical training manager at the time of his civilian retirement in 2011. Bennie always had a passion for riding, racing, and working on motorcycles. He owned and operated Quality Cycle in Iowa Park, Texas since 1984.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Jean Brashear and his son, David Brashear. He is survived by his former wife Cindy Trahan Lee and their children Jeremie Brashear & wife Stephanie of Tucson, Arizona, Sara Klein & husband Jeff of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jessie Brashear & wife Beth of Wichita Falls, Texas. His grandchildren Tyler, Aspen, Ezra, Macie, Emilie, Savannah, Natalie, Lillian, Jolie and Jagger. Siblings,Twin sister Billie Rossiter & husband Steve of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and brothers Keith Brashear of Big Lake, Louisiana, Kurt Brashear & wife Rhonda of Warrensburg, Missouri and Bobby Brashear and wife Barbara of Lake Charles, Louisiana and long time companion, Diane Ring of Wichita Falls, Texas.
The sunshine and laughter Bennie brought into this world will forever be missed.
Rosary and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Entombment with United States Air Force Honors will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls.
