Barney Owen Brown Jr.

Barney O. Brown, Jr., 87, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Orr of Faith Village Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 7:30 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown was born February 15, 1923 in Wichita Falls. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Wichita Falls and went to work for Bailey-Meissner Plumbing Supply Co. until his retirement. He married Mattie Lou (Pat) Brown in 1972 and she preceded him in death in 2003. They were members of Faith Village Church of Christ.

Survivors are step-daughter, Norma Blackwell Chamberlin of Bonifay, Florida; step-son, Stan Blackwell of Wills Point, Tx.; step-daughter, Karen Griggs Steinmann of Cincinnati, Ohio and step-son, John Griggs of San Marcos, Tx.

Pallbearers will be Jerry King, Arnold Goodner, G. B. Ritchie, Gordon Stewart, Gordon Wallace and Jim Carpenter.
