Anna Mae Dooley, 97, of Wichita Falls died Friday, July 1, 2011 at a local hospice facility. Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Floral Heights United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Merwin Turner. A private family burial will be held later that day at Crestview Memorial Park directed by Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Anna Mae was born March 6, 1914 to Flavius Cullen and Jimmie Rolan Hamilton near Bowie in Montague County. She married James R. Dooley November 24, 1941 in Wichita Falls. In her younger years she was a member of a historical study club, several book clubs, and was a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 24. Anna Mae was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class for over 60 years at Floral Heights United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities including United Methodist Women’s Group and Ruth Circle.
Mrs. Dooley is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, James R. Dooley in 2007, and daughter, Marilyn Davis in 1982.
Survivors include her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Damon Miller of Galt, CA; sisters, Cordie Leonard, Annie Belle James both of Bowie, TX; and three grandchildren, Jake Davis, Stephen Sigafoos, and Erin Sigafoos.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, or Floral Heights United Methodist Church music program.
