Alisha Diane Backus

Memorial services will be 10 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Jefferson St. Baptist Church of Wichita Falls with Mack Carter officiating.

Alisha was born on July 2, 1984 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Michael Newby and Denna Shoffit Laseman. She married Jared Backus on June 16, 2007 in Wichita Falls. She lived most of her life in Wichita Falls and had recently lived in Burkburnett. She loved playing with her son and her animals, loved gardening, reading, travelling, and baking. She was preceded in death by her step-father: Gary Kyle in 2009; her great-grandmother: Mozelle Laseman; her grandfather: Carl Laseman; and her grandmother: Sharon Duty.

Survivors include her husband: Jared Backus of Burkburnett; her dad: Michael Newby of Illinois, mother and step-dad: Denna Shoffit and John of Wichita Falls; her son: Asher Backus of Burkburnett; step-daughters: Journey Losoya and Tonee Borders; her in-laws: Mike and Kellie Backus and Adrienne Whitson, all of Burkburnett; and her grandmother: Susan Laseman of Lloyd, Florida.
