Hamilton – William (Bill) Schilling, 80, died peacefully on September 2, 2015 at Brookdale at Hamilton, his home for the past 10 months. Raised in the Bronx, NY, he was a long time Hightstown resident before moving to Whiting, more recently to Hamilton. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with family and friends. A graduate of Manhattan College, he was employed for many years as an electrical engineer at various companies including Western Union, RCA, Fifth Dimension, EMC Technologies and the Department of the Army at Fort Monmouth before retiring to Whiting in 1998. He was a lifetime member, treasurer and Melvin Jones Fellow for the Lions Club, in both the Hightstown-East Windsor and Lakehurst-Manchester Clubs.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, the late Mildred nee Engel in 2012 and his parents, William and Henrietta (Ethel) Schilling. He is survived by his four sons Domenick (Lori Cain) of Raleigh, NC; Kenneth (Michelle) of Pennington, NJ; Christopher (Lisa) of Boothwyn, PA and Matthew (Colleen) of Myrtle Beach, SC; one daughter Mary Ellen (Michael) Congleton of Bordentown, NJ; three “adopted sons” John O’Rourke, George Crampton and Antonio Frederick; and 14 grandchildren – Kelly, Sean, Megan, Ryan, Jack, Juliet, TJ, Camden, Brayden, Anthony, Catherine, Julia, Avery, and Aryn; a sister Jerry Budzinski of Inverness, Florida, and her children, Sue, Julie, Pat and Lauren, as well as many other friends and relatives. A Memorial Gathering will be Friday September 11 from 4-6pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home of Manchester, 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:45 am on Saturday, September 12 from All Saints Chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 23 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting, NJ. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
