Walter A. Marcellari, 88, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away at home on October 11, 2015. Born in Northvale, he lived there most of his life until moving to Whiting in 1996.
Walter was a Navy Seabees veteran serving in the Philippines and Truk. He became an auto mechanic and co-owner of Northvale Repair & Service and then the owner of Tappan Dairy Queen.
Walter was the son of Milton and Hope Marcellari. He is survived by his sister Joan & her husband Samuel Amorosso of Dumont; his brother Robert & his wife Eleanor of Highland Lakes; his daughter Sandra Avarella of Whiting; his son Allen & his wife Olivia, their sons Jeffrey and Thomas and Jeffrey’s son Jayden, all of Bloomingrove, NY and four nieces and a nephew. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15 from 9:30-11:30am with Funeral Services beginning at 11:30am from the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting.
Committal to include Military Honors will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd. Wrightstown.
