Richard F. Lang, 84, of Whiting, passed away on Saturday, February 04, 2012, at Whiting Health Care. Born in Rochester, NY, he lived in Pequannock, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1995. Richard was a graduate of Alfred University in Alfred, NY. He was employed at Gibbs &Hill in New York City as Draftsman Designer for 12 years, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of Pequannock Reformed Church and Choir. Richard was an active member of Community Reformed Church in Whiting and sang with the choir. Richard enjoyed singing with Barbershop Quartets, building model railroads, and he was a bird enthusiast.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Helen (Gainor) Lang; his son Tim Lang and his wife Maureen of Wayne; a daughter Heidi Parrinello and her husband James of Glen Ridge; a brother Leonard G. Lang of NY; his sister Marjorie Crumb of NY; and 4 cherished grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Sophia and Eliza.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Community Reformed Church, 30 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Burial will take place at First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains NJ at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Special Olympics at [email protected].
