Marion R Roman (Caban), 84, of Manchester passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was born in Manhattan NY but found her way to New Jersey where she met and married her husband Dionisio Roman 60 years ago. They raised 6 children in New Egypt NJ.
Marion was a wonderful mother and homemaker for many years. She also worked as a Medical Receptionist for 28 years for hospitals and doctors offices. She volunteered at Somebody Cares for several years where she truly enjoyed helping her community and being known for her kindness, helpfulness and funny demeanor. Marion was always willing to help when and where it was needed.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting however crocheting is what she enjoyed most. She made personalized items including blankets which were made to cover 1 person or a starting line up. She also loved to dance salsa with her husband, play bingo, watch novelas and read James Paterson books. But her ultimate pastime was to spend time with family.
Marion embraced love in such a magnificent way as in the art of giving and thoughtfulness. Love was her true gift to many that were blessed to have her in their lives. She truly expelled love in her actions. She was always ready to give gifts or trinkets of some kind to everyone and was also known for her delicious cooking and hospitality.
Marion was predeceased by her brother, two sisters and a grandson. She is survived by her husband Dionisio Roman, her 6 children, Edward Reyes, Diana Hart, Donna Roman, Dionisio Roman II and his wife Lisa, Maria Smith and her husband Derrik, David Roman and his wife Genia; her sisters Sophia Torres and Lorraine Cruz and her husband Augustin; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
Marion was Abuela, Nana and Nanita to many. Her love for her husband and children were exemplary.
Through her 84 years of hard work, strength and selflessness she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue on through everyone she touched.
On June 30, 2024 this world lost a true legend!
The funeral will be a private ceremony, remembering Marion in the presence of close family.
