Elaine M. Clay (nee Moeller), age 82, of Bayville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26th at The Pines at Whiting (from a non-Covid related illness). She was pre-deceased by her devoted husband Daniel of 44 years, her beloved sister Betty and brothers Tom and Eddie. She leaves behind her son, Christopher of Philadelphia, her daughter Lisa Allison and partner John Rogati, of Barnegat, nieces Sharon, Carol, and Elaine, nephews Danny, Larry, Bill, Bob and Buzz, and her best friend Janice Maslo, along with 4 grandcats.
Elaine was born in Irvington on October 15, 1938, but moved to Bayville in 1948 with her family, where she lived in Holly Park until 2016, when she moved to The Pines.
Elaine was the Board Secretary for Berkeley Township Schools at C.B.W. for nearly 30 years when she retired in 1995. She also worked as a local realtor for many years, and was an "Avon Lady" for decades. She and her husband Dan, had an Antiques and Collectibles business for nearly 30 years that was also a hobby they both shared and enjoyed. Elaine loved her family vacations to Walt Disney World and New England, was involved for many years in her local church and was a "cat mom" for most of her life.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, December 30th at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Lacey Road in Whiting, from 4 PM until 7 PM. Committal Services will be Thursday, 11am at Riverside Cemetery, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated and can be made in Elaine's memory to The Pines at Whiting in Whiting, The Associated Humane Society / Popcorn Park in Forked River, or to Holisticare Hospice in Toms River.
