Edward B. Schaber

Edward B. Schaber, 79, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Ed was born and raised in South Amboy. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce (Letts) Schaber, in 1965. They raised their family in South Amboy and lived there until moving to Parlin in 1993. They later moved to Whiting in 2006.

Ed worked at E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1992. He was a Little League Coach in South Amboy for several years while his children were involved in sports. Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed shooting pool & playing cards. His greatest love was his family. He will be dearly missed.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Catherine Schaber; his grandson, Tyler O’Steen; and his daughter-in-law, Mary (Evelyn) Schaber. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Joyce; his 2 children, Tammy O’Steen and her husband Daniel and Edward Schaber, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Lexi, Daniel and Jersey; 2 step-grandchildren, Jordan and Bryson; and 1 great-grandson; Colton. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Fred and Gerard Schaber.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 5:30PM at the funeral home. A committal service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11am at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Parlin, NJ.
