Ben served as a combat medic in the 30th Infantry division of the U. S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action at the Battle of Normandy. Risking his life under fire, he took charge of giving first aid to the wounded, personally attending as many as he could as enemy planes continued to bomb and strafe the area.
Ben went on to become a sales representative and build a money order business with his brother Perry. With his easy-going manner and positive outlook on life, Ben endeared himself to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Celesta Ronciglione, his brother Perry, his sister Emma, and his granddaughter Donna. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Pieta; his 3 children, Celeste (son-in-law Dan), Anthony, and Linda (son-in-law Rob); his granddaughter Tess (grandson-in-law Mike) and his great-grandson, Florian.
