Born on May 9, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY he resided in Belleville, Chatham and New Vernon, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1987.
He was extremely proud of his service to the U.S. Navy. During WW II, he served in the European Theatre in France and in the Pacific Theatre with Squadron Ten. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War as head of Harbor Defences. He achieved the rank of Lt. Commander. In 1985 he was promoted to the rank of Commander. He was again recalled in 1965 to temporary active duty with Mine Forces, Atlantic Fleet. He continued his commitment to the Navy as a United States naval Academy Information Officer.
He was a District Engineer with NJ Bell before retiring in 1977. He was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering. He also was a member of the Madison Lodge # 93 of the Free and Accepted Masons.
He is predeceased by his parents Albert & Maude Earl.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Inez Rowland Earl.
