Rita called and talked to me via telephone when I came to visit my family in West Bloomfield Michigan.  Though it had been years since we had seen one another Rita new all about me and was incredibly bright, kind, loving and active.  I could sense her kindness over the phone.  She told me stories of when my dad Richard was young. She also was very interested in staying current with our family and she was.  I am so thankful I had an opportunity to see her that summer. Rita was my great aunt. We had not seen each other for several years and when I had my first son 26 years ago, she was at Huron Valley Hospital to give people communion on Sunday. She was always giving of herself in the community. I often saw her at Open Door and would run into her at the local Meijer. It was always great to catch up with her when I ran into her around Commerce. I had spoken with her just a few weeks ago, she said she liked the new place she was living, but said jokingly, that she didn't fit in with all those old people, she still felt like a young woman.  We chatted for quite some time and I will always remember her. Just an incredible woman, she will be missed by so many.

Sending all our love and prayers. Our family just heard of Aunt Rita's passing. She was a dear soul. Our family was especially grateful for her kindness when visiting with my parents, her nephew Richard Bozyk and his wife, Carol in West Bloomfield last summer. Both Richard and Carol were diagnosed with dementia and moved to Maryland to be near our family. Rita took time out to visit with them both, as well as my brothers, Daniel, David and Michael Bozyk before the move. We were so happy they had that special time together, especially since Richard also passed away on Sept 12, 2015 at the age of 80. Our prayers are with all of you. Rita was a wonderful neighbor for 30 years. Always active and kept busy with her volunteering. She loved working in her yard and had the best hydrangeas in the neighborhood. 
She will be missed.

Tom and I are so sorry to hear of Rita's passing.  She was my dear friend and mentor while I worked at Open Door. She was a beautiful person who I loved so much. I hope she and Jules are having a great and blessed time in Heaven.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family, we at Open Door Outreach Center are so grateful for Rita's volunteer service.  She has impacted her community and given of her love.  We are so happy to visit with her at the Volunteer Luncheon Monday and honor her with the Presidents Lifetime Achievement Award for her willingness and commitment to volunteer.  When we gave her the award she stated, "I got more than I gave."  Beautiful!
