Nancy Elizabeth (Purdy) Rohloff, born November 17, 1952 and passed away September 6, 2016 at 63 years of age. She is survived by her only son Michael Rohloff, her Brother Jim Purdy and her granddaughter Berlin Rohloff. She is the daughter of John Purdy and Dorothy Moore.
Those that Nancy loved, she loved wholeheartedly and you'd quickly learn not to mess with the people Nancy loved. From the moment her son Michael was born he was the center of her universe. He immediately became the one thing around which everything else in Nancy's life would orbit. Nothing made her more proud than her son and the man he grew up to be. (Except perhaps a certain four-legged friend of hers that goes by the name Bernice, who she considered a close runner-up). She lit up every time she spoke about her granddaughter, Berlin Who was Nancy's saving grace in a number of ways. Her birth, just a few short months ago, gave Nancy a renewed sense of purpose and brought her overwhelming joy in the last few months of her life. Her family and friends were her driving force and it is because of them that she had such a deep well to draw from, brimming with hilarious stories, fond memories, shared moments of happiness and loads of laughter.
She could make service providers tremble and never had to suffer from the burden of overcharges. She was never one to be shy about sharing her opinions. And for those of us that knew her best also know that her upstairs landlord better make sure she can still catch Ellen from 3:00-4:00, that they have a wide array of good mysteries to choose from on the shelves their library and that they offer only the very best seats for attending Red Wings games, or else she's calling the claims department to have words.
Those of us that were honored enough to know her are forever changed. It is in our hearts and in our compiled memories that Nancy will live within each of us and through each of us. Immortalized in the stories we carry.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the White Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm.
