Mary Elizabeth Stoddard, 83, long time resident of Commerce Township, Michigan, and daughter of Edward and Vida Weber, passed away peacefully and in the loving care of her children on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 10:30 in the morning. Her memorial service will be held at 11:30 on Saturday morning, May 20, 2017, at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home in White Lake, Michigan - Christopher Ferris as celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Commerce Memorial Cemetery. Mary was born in Belleville, Michigan, on October 18, 1933. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1952. Later that year, Mary was married to Orlin Kenneth Stoddard in Grace Baptist Church. They were married for 52 years before he preceded her in death in February of 2004. Mary enjoyed many years raising four children in homes located in Belleville and Sterling Heights, Michigan, as well as Westminster, California. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and baking, and she was also an active member of the Hilltop Church of the Nazarene in Novi. Mary is survived by children: David Stoddard (Stacy), Beverly O’Dell (Michael), Diane Warner (Andrew), and Earl Stoddard (Nancie). She is survived by grandchildren: Matthew (Rosalba), Jared (Brandi), Michael Jr., Joseph, Heather (Stephen), Mae, Zachary, Rebecca (Jason), Laura, Crystal, Nathan, Kyle, and Jeremy. She is survived by great-grandchildren: Natalie, Kaden, Ava, Avery, Elyse, Aubrey, Christopher and Jackson. Mary is survived by one sister, Hazel Lynch, one sister-in-law, Lil Weber, and many extended family and dear friends. In addition to her husband Orlin, Mary is preceded in death by her sister Margaret, her brother Raymond, and her granddaughter Melissa.
