Mary Jo Morey, age 69, a longtime resident of Union Lake, was born August 22, 1953 in Detroit and passed away September 10, 2022 in Commerce Township. Mary Jo (MJ/Mary/Cheese) was preceded in passing by her parents, Edward and Josephine Morey.
Mary was a mother to many! She made sure that everyone was taken care of and always put them above herself. She had a huge love for rescued animals, an incredible passion for reading (very large) hardcover novels, doing calculated crossword puzzles, a history junkie, and a shuffle board and Euchre expert. She also enjoyed sitting at the table doing her scratch offs or hoping for the winning lottery ticket.
Mary Jo spent her life serving others; starting each day being a postal carrier, to ending each night serving drinks to all the locals. (All that made special visits to Sally’s Saloon, just to visit her!) She gave her life to her family and friends and never asked for anything in return.
Mary will definitely be missed by all, but she will always be a legend in the Union Lake Community.
