I was so sad when I was notified about Jim's passing. I got to know him while working at Coldwell Banker Lakes Realty in Canadian Lakes, MI. where he and Nancy lived. It turns out we had lots in common. Jim worked for Chrysler during the years when the auto industry was involved in the muscle car era. I was a classic car fan and had owned many cars through the years. We had lots of fun talks about cars and racing. Jim, in fact, was a judge for one of our car shows at the castle in Canadian Lakes. We had lots of talks about sports and coaching. He coached hockey, played baseball for EMU if I remember correctly, while I was a basketball coach for Varsity and JV and freshman  for Garden City schools. Jim covered for me at the real estate office and I did the same for him if we had to be out of the office. On several occasions Jim, Nancy, myself and Melanie my wife had the chance to go out for dinner or visit  at our homes through the years. What a great person Jim was. We will all miss him and pray for Nancy and the family.

Husband of Nancy  father to Thomas d. 2011(Diane), John (Jill), Stephen d. 2009 (Michelle) and Stepfather to Trevor brown. Grandfather to Angela, James, Jessica and Jack, Link and Nara Brown. Great grandfather to Saige Thomas-Lowry. 
 Lived a full life growing up in Waterford on the lake, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. 
He graduated from Waterford Township high school in 1958
Attended Eastern Michigan University and played hockey
He went on to work for Chrysler obtaining many accolades through his career. 
Coached hockey for his children throughout the Waterford school district in the 1970’s. He ultimately became a realtor in Starwood Michigan for Caldwell Banker until he could no longer physically work.

Each year while his grandchildren were young he hosted a “Lowry's Summer Camp” where he taught his grandchildren his hunting fishing, bow & arrow as well as many other great life skills. He was previously married to Patience Lowry of Clarkston Michigan and is remembered by many as a coach, friend and mentor. 

Rest In Peace, Grandpa, we will all miss you! Give Tom & Steve a big hug from us!

Uncle Jim was a great guy with a good sense of humor. He will be missed by many. Prayers going out to family and friends. 

Always remember the fun times at the cabin(Canada Creek). Whether it was hunting, snowmobiling, fishing or just hanging out. A couple of times I didn’t wake up  early enough to go hunting and Uncle Jim stuffed me my sleeping bag, carried me outside and slide me down the hill. That sure woke me up! He was a good man and will be missed. I have many great memories with him.
