You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life, say to the Lord, “My refuge, my rock in whom I trust.” Our beloved Marian “May” Guercio Cotten, 56, a native and resident of White Castle, LA, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. May was a loving wife, step-mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a passion for makeup, clothes, cooking, playing video poker, and watching games shows. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Christopher Cotten; two step children, Claire and Jacob Cotten; mother, Marian Robert Guercio; four sisters, Brenda Joffrion (Fil), Marilyn Zeringue (Johnny), Maria Grace (Hank), and Camilla Guercio (Frank); three brothers, S.J. Guercio IV (Rita), Russell J. Guercio (Stacy), and Luke H. Guercio; special cousin Charlton A. Bajon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steven and Jacqueline Cotten; brother-in-law, Kelly Cotten (Amber), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, S.J. “Blue” Guercio III; grandparents, Sam and Mary S. Guercio, Beniot and Elise C. Robert and one nephew, Louis Zeringue II. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle from 9am until 10:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 11am, conducting the service will be Father Alec Sheldon. Interment will be in the White Castle Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be: Russell Guercio, S.J. Guercio IV, Charlton Bajon, William Zeringue, Johnny Zeringue, Fil Joffrion, Hank Grace and Kelly Cotten. Honorary pallbearers will be: Frank McNease and nephews. The family would like to especially thank Comfort Care Hospice and Mary Thomas Green for her love and support.
