Age 64 and a native and resident of White Castle, he died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joey F. Angeles. Burial in White Castle Mausoleum. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianne Troxclair Roberts; mother, Clara Papet Roberts, Baton Rouge; daughter and son-in-law, Erica Roberts Hazelton and Robert Hazelton, Lakewood, WA; son and girlfriend, Justin Michael Roberts and Heidi Schuldt, White Castle; godfather, Louis Papet, Sr., Lynchburg, Va.; godmother, Marilyn Barbier, Baton Rouge; sisters-in-law and husbands, Madelyn Troxclair and David Radabaugh, Seattle, Wash., Donna and J.D. Campesi, White Castle, Eileen and Michael Cagle, Houston, Texas, Jeanine and Anthony Corroa, Austin, Texas, Simone Giroir and fiance Sonny Hurst, White Castle; brothers-in-law and wives, Reginald and Deborah Troxclair, Bayou Goula, Barry and Carla Troxclair, Mountain Home, Ark., Errol and Elizabeth Troxclair, Plaquemine, Emile “Chip” and Jan Troxclair, Houston; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his four-legged family, Scrappy, Bear, Snooka and Wineo. Preceded in death by father, Gerald Paul “Buddy” Roberts, Sr.; grandparents, Joseph and Odette Mury Roberts; and grandparents, Leonce and Corinne Comeaux Papet. Gerald was a graduate of White Castle High School class of 1965 and attended Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Ruston, La. Gerald worked as a lab technician and stores technician and was retired from Georgia Gulf Corp. with 29 plus years of service. Gerald loved sports, especially golf, hunting and fishing. He recently made his last trip to Grand Isle, his favorite place, with his son and longtime fishing partner, Dana Collins. Gerald was a devoted son, husband and father and loved his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all. Special thanks to Dr. M.
