He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and following the grandchildren with numerous activities. Spending time with his family meant the most. He retired after 33 years at Americas Styrenics Chemical Plant and was a proud member of the Louisiana National Guard 769 Engineering Battalion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret C. Martinez; two sons, Scott Martinez (Heather) and Thomas Martinez (Michelle); three grandchildren, Claire Meyers (Tyler), Landon Martinez, Noah Martinez, and Gavin Lesage; sisters, Dale Himel (Robert) and Angela Alleman; and brother-in-laws, Mark Callegan (Ann), Bill Callegan (Geralyn); along with a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Therese Martinez; and in-laws, Mary S. and William Callegan.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 for 12:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine with the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm. Father Greg Daigle will be officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in White Castle.
