Wayne Edwin Pearson was born on March 2, 1925, the only son of Homer and Carrie Pearson. His entire youth was spent in Wheat Ridge, CO graduating in 1943 from Wheat Ridge High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps March 1,1943 and began active service July 1, 1943. He was honorably discharged and held the rank of Corporal. He saw active duty in WWII stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After leaving active duty, he married Lodema Jane Abbott on June 15, 1947. He studied horticulture at Colorado State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He joined his father and uncle at Pearson Greenhouses in Wheat Ridge, CO and then he and his uncle built greenhouses in Lafayette, CO where he worked until his retirement. His time spent in the greenhouses was producing carnations and bedding plants. Pearson was an avid fisherman, camper, golfer, enjoyed watching sports, and dabbled in politics.
Service to others was important to Pearson. Volunteering in Kiwanis Club, Lyons Club, the Methodist church, Meals on Wheels, and providing transportation to others were part of his volunteer activities. The values of family, faith in God, and the beauty of nature were all important to Pearson.
Wayne Pearson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lodema, three children, Randolf (New York City), Kimberley Erickson (Thornton, CO), and Kriss Pearson (Arvada, CO). His treasured grandchildren are Jennifer Erickson, Tuss Erickson III, Brooke Pearson, Kelli Pearson and Erin Pearson.

Visitation will be on Tues. from 2-7pm, with services at 10:00am on
Wed., both at Crown Hill Mortuary. Entombment, with military honors, to follow.
