Just listened to an audio from Zig Ziglar and he metions Walter "Sunny" Weingarten on how his disadvantage, became his advantage and the solution for more people.  

Rest in Paradise, Sunny and thanks for all you did for this world.

I just felt a need to search for Sunny and am sad to see he passed.  Sunny built a porta-lung for our daughter 22 years ago.  Because of him her life was incredible right up to her passing at age 8.  I'll forever hold him in high regard.  Although we never met in person I'll always be thankful the lord put him in my life's path.  Shirley Simmons, Texas.

Dear Weingarten family. I just recently heard of the passing of Sunny and wanted to offer my sincere condolences on your loss. I will never forget what Sunny did for me as a kid, allowing me to live my dream of being able to purchase Denver Broncos season tickets from him. He was an inspiration to me in all that he did and all that he accomplished and he is certainly the greatest Broncos fan I have ever known. We will all miss him greatly.

Many childhood memories of playing with Kathy, Sonja and Sonny on their farm and at St. Paul Church functions.  Also at the Palmer's home in Denver.

My life as a ventilator users is more secure because since 1998 I have used the Porta-Lung designed by Sunny Weingarten. On several occasions, when I needed information or help, Sunny was always very gracious and generous with his time.

Walter "Sunny" Weingarten was a long time Denver Broncos fan active at games and events featuring players until polio left him housebound.  During the past years he has watched the games and supported the Denver Broncos from home.  He will be missed.  Denver Broncos Quarterback Club

Genevieve and I were fortunate to meet Sunny and to go to the Broncos games with him at the old Mile High for several years. Those were the days I will cherish as a Broncos fan.  He always had positive attitude, a very generous heart, and was the best Broncos Fan I ever met. You will be missed. God Bless You. Rest in Peace my friend.

Sunny I know you are now in heaven walking at God's side, you were a wonderful caring man.  You taught my children responsibility of work at a young age and I appreciated you for that.  You always had a smiling face and you will be missed.

I will never look at the game of baseball the same!  In the years I played for Sunny, I learned so much about the game and so much about myself.  He was an amazing person who did so much for so many people while overcoming so many challenges.  He will be deeply missed and always remembered.  I was blessed to have known him.  Thank you for everything Sunny.

Sunny was honestly the most amazing person I have ever met.  I did not know him long or very well but I can tell you I was very impressed by his compassion and will.  He never let his impairment get in his way and I always found that to be truly inspirational.  I think it would have been amazing to know him so many years ago when he was in his prime and striving to do everything he could.  He will be missed.

I first met Sunny when he coached my oldest son, Sunny was an inspiration to all my boys. My boys and I were lucky to have had Sunny as a coach. God be with You Sunny, you will be missed.

RIP Sonny, we had some good times there at Mile High in the early 70's....dad has passed away but mom is still here @80 we the Cordova's send our condolences....Maria Cordova aka Monica Graves.....Vaya con Dios.....

Dear family,  I have always been in awe of Sunny, from the first time I met him to the last time I saw him.  His peace, comfort, and joy oozed out of him and into anyone he was around- somehow after talking to Sunny I knew I had just had my life brightened.  I was always so happy to see him, hear his laugh... I am so glad to have had the opportunity to learn from him that in life there is always something to smile about.

To the Weingarten family.  I used to shuttle Sunny to Denver First Church of the Nazarene in 1985 in his van.  In spite of his physical condition, he was very positive and uplifting.  I enjoyed being around him.  I am sorry to hear of his passing, but he is in a better place now.  I know of your sorrow, as my Dad also recently passed away just a day before Sunny.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I only met him once, when he attended the mountain area sunday school convention years ago, when Joni Eareckson Tada was speaking.
He truly brightened everyone's life - 
I have remembered his example often over the years.
