Wally Rice

Wally Rice died February 26, 2022 in Wheat Ridge, CO, surrounded by family. Born August 19, 1947, to Connie Pasquale and Lew Wallace Rice II. Wally graduated from Western State College in 1969 with a BA in Business.. He became a very successful pipeline contractor, founding and leading Ricor, Inc. for almost 40 years. An avid fan of the Broncos and Avalanche, he was also a part-owner and frequent visitor to the Rambling Rose in Wheat Ridge. Wally enjoyed golf and annual fishing trips to Canada and Alaska. His life was defined by his generosity, kindness and sense of humor. Wally is survived by his wife, Penny Sue Rice; brothers Kent (Ann Corrigan) and Ralph (Annamarie Fidel-Rice); niece Christine Segovia; nephews Andrew and Peter Rice; great nephew and niece Henry and Ophelia Segovia; step-children: Molly Read, Heather Harris, and Stefanie Ryan; step-grandchildren: Kyle Harris, Ace Munez, Braden and Dylan Read; Ethan, Parker, and Owen Ryan; and his dog, Burt. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Marc Rice. A visitation will be held Friday, March 4th from 5-7pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, followed by a gathering at the Rambling Rose at 10080 W. 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of Man, a local charity that Wally supported for decades.
