Robert Thomas Lewis was born to Robert Phillip Lewis and Iris Virginia Lewis on February 24, 1944, in Denver, Co. When Tom was in the 3rd grade they moved to Howard, Colorado. He graduated from Cotapaxi High School in 1963. He attended Oklahoma Christian College after graduating from high school. He stayed home at the semester break his first year to help out his folks, but gathered many stories while he was there that brought a smile to his face every time he told them. He moved to Denver in 1964 to help mend a broken heart and little did he know he would soon meet the one true love of his life! He moved in with his Aunt Doris and her family. As soon as he arrived his cousin Cathy could hardly wait to introduce him to her new friend Sharon. Well, you all know how that worked out! They married on July 17, 1965. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Bob, Tobi and Teri.
He spent many years building and designing custom homes and track homes across the Denver metro area. It didn't matter where his travels took him, he could point out homes that he had built. While his career took a toll on his body, it gave him one of his greatest joys. The friendships he built over the years and stories he could tell always brought out his laughter and twinkle in his eye.
After retirement he enjoyed being home, spending time with family, going out for a cup (as he would say) and taking care of their dogs.
Tom entered the presence of the Lord on Monday morning. Friends and family that had went before greeted him with happiness, while those he left behind will have to get used to the empty hollow spot in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a perfect husband and dad that never stopped teaching his children about the Lord, and a grandpa that knew his grandkids were the best ever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Iris. He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Bob (Jo), daughter Tobi (Brad), daughter Teri (Brian). Grandkids Rodney, Stephanie, Sammie, Lynsey, Brandon, John, Tyler, Madalynn, Cole, and Makenna, and 3 great grandchildren, Genevieve, Kyson, and Cassandra.
He will be greatly missed.
