Today i woke up and was reminded about all the things I had dreamt of showing you in this world. It made endless tears fall onto the blanket i keep that I made for you. I see how much you are missed in the eyes and hearts of your grandma and grandpa Holland, your dad and even Billie ( but you know she always shows stuff differently). I’m doing my best to love her through all this buddy as you two are so very different and special to me. I went to school with Skyler from kindergarten to 4th grade.  I remember that he loved superheroes.  I remember calling each other super villain names every day after school when we played at the school playground.

My niece, Makayla, was a fellow classmate of Skyler's. We are so very deeply sorry for your loss. My daughter passed away two years ago, (Makayla's cousin) and we know all too well the overwhelming pain. I was told by another lady that lost her child, to stay in a state of shock as long as possible--I thought it odd at first but have come to understand what she meant. It is an inherent protective mechanism that will help you face each day. Grief crashes over you like tsunamis at first, but the time between the waves will eventually lengthen long enough for the sun to shine through. The waves, they still come but they do get easier to bear with time, and the tsunamis eventually lessen to tidal waves that you can eventually weather.

Go easy on yourself, you have been through so much. I hope my words of experience will help you get through these difficult days. Sending you hugs and prayers.

Skyler is a beautiful person.  A genuinely sweet young man. I miss seeing his little face through my front door window when he and Billie came over to see if my grandsons could play. It made me smile every time and still does. My deepest condolences.

We little knew that on evening of October 6, 2017 at 4:00pm that God will call your name Skyler.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you Skyler,
You did not go home alone.
