Shirley Mae Leece was born to Spike and Edith Leece in Georgetown Colorado. Her family moved around a bit, and finally landed in Edgewater Colorado where she made many friends that are still friends today. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Shirley married Dean Lynn in February of 1960 where they initially resided in Lakewood, but ended up in Golden Colorado where Shirley lived until she died. Shirley and Dean had one son, Chris. Shirley was an amazing wife, and was Dean's caregiver for over 35 years helping him to live comfortably and happy with his MS diagnosis. She was also a Mom like no other, and provided Chris unending love and support, encouragement, acceptance and understanding.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her brother Sonny, her loving husband Dean, and her daughter-in-law Carol Lynn.
After Dean's death, she was an incredibly active Grandma that helped Chris raise Alexandria and Madeline, and everyone knew Grandma Shirley! You could find her at school activities, sporting events, and driving those girls wherever they wanted to go. An amazing woman, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and confidant; Shirley left a legacy of love and compassion that we can all learn from.
Missing her already is her family: her son Chris, her son-in-law Charles Kessler, her loving granddaughters Alexandria Grace Lynn and Madeline Rose Lynn, as well as her fantastic great grandson Dean Arthur Lynn. She is also missed by her dear cousin Helen Huitt, her special friend Bernie Jueschke, many neices, nephews, friends, and amazing neighbors that always looked out for Dean and Shirley. She will be buried next to Dean, near her parents and grandparents as well. Small but mighty, and mightily missed already.
