Ruthann was born on October 21, 1941 in Columbia MO to parents Thurman and Harriet Bedell. Her parents moved her and two younger sisters, Lynette and Nancy to Colorado in 1947, where they have all resided since.
Ruthann married at the age of 20 in 1961. She had two children, Scott and Lori. Ruthann remarried in 1975. Gene moved her from Arvada to Dory Lakes in Gilpin County. Gene had two daughters, Cindy and Charlene.
Mountain living suited Ruthann well. She loved walks through the woods, cooking and baking. Pies were her specialty. She would ask you what your favorite pie was and then make it for you!
Ruthann held several jobs and retired from the Central City Post Office. After Gene retired, they moved to Lakewood into Gene’s childhood home. Back in the city, Ruthann’s hobby became shopping. Gene and Ruthann travelled many places around the globe, but home was a happy place for both of them. There were many cookouts and gatherings. Grandchildren came along and their time was spent going to parks, fun outings and exploring the great backyard.
Ruthann will be remembered for her smile and kindness. She loved Jesus, her family and her friends
Ruthann is survived by her son Scott (wife Peggy), daughter Lori (husband David), grandchildren Adam, Nicole, Elizabeth and James. She has two great grandchildren, Brevyn and Ryker.
