Ruth was born on October 31st, 1935 “Halloween”, in Chicago, IL to Frankland W Gordon and Gertrude Perrine Gordon.
She was raised in Arlington, VA and graduated Washington Lee Highschool in 1953. She attended the University of Wisconsin and received her AA from Gavilan College in Gilroy, CA. She was an accomplished woman, wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her four daughters and their spouses (Debra & Keith Bowman of San Jose, CA, Teri McClaflin of Hollister, CA, Darla Hope of Castle Rock, CO, and Trisha & David Swift of Minneapolis, MN), 10 grandchildren and their spouses (Shawna Compton, Alyssa & Luke Biesecker, Desirey & Michael Van Why, Ryan & Rebecca McClaflin, Thomas & Amy Springer, Kyle & Megan McClaflin, Cory & Amy Bowman, and McKinley, Evan & Carter Swift), 13 Great-Grandchildren (Olivia, Walter, & Emory Biesecker; William, Amrylin, & Warren Van Why; Ethan McClaflin; Ezekiel Springer; Cailin, Robert, & Austin McClaflin; and Amelia & Declan Bowman), her niece and nephew (Emalyn & John Gordon), her great niece and nephew (Samantha & Griffin Lay) and numerous friends.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Ruth was an avid reader, puzzle problem solver, crochet/knitter, traveler, & technology enthusiast. Ruth had a magnetic personality, made friends easily, and always knew just how to brighten a day/mood up. She knew how to make someone feel like they were the most important person with her love of sitting to have a cup of coffee and a good chat on just about anything. She touched many lives with her generosity and easy smile.
