Ronald I. Gallegos, age 70, passed away July 4, 2018. Ron was born and raised in the San Luis Valley in La Jara, Colorado. He was an alumni of Adams State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Following that he earned a double Master's Degree from George Washington University. Ron was retired from the University of Colorado where he worked for 33 years. He was passionate about education, especially working with kids on pre collegiate programs. He was a strong democrat who championed Latino issues. Ron was an officer in the Jefferson County Democratic Party and an officer in the Jefferson County Democratic Latino Initiative. Ron is survived by his wife, Sandy Baca-Sandoval, and sister, Susan Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedito and Molly Gallegos, and his brother, Arnold Gallegos.
